Food and Water
One third of all crops are pollinated by honey bees. Depending on the crop, it could not have developed without the pollination of the bee. Pollination helps the crops grow correctly. If it were not for the bees, the crop might have an imperfect shape and not taste as good.
Skill One |
On average, 10 gallons per day of your water footprint (or 14% of your indoor use) is lost to leaks. Short of installing new water-efficient fixtures, one of the easiest, most effective ways to cut your footprint is by repairing leaky faucets and toilets.
Skill Two |
The water it takes to produce the average American diet alone—approximately 1,000 gallons per person per day—is more than the global average water footprint of 900 gallons per person per day for diet, household use, transportation, energy, and the consumption of material goods.
Skill Three |
All retailers sell the food the people request. Most of the food the people request is imported from all around the world. The retailer then sells the food for a high price. This is not worth it though. These foods that are imported to American have an increased amount of carbon footprint. Carbon footprint is he total amount of greenhouse gases produced to directly and indirectly support human activities, usually expressed in equivalent tons of carbon dioxide. It is better to stick with the cheaper foods that are produced in our country.
Bees pollinate the crops that animals eat such as livestock. The livestock will die if bees do not pollinate the crops. This is why livestock are very costly to maintain.

The bees are slowly dying off due to activities through man. Reports show that by 2050 most of all the bees will have died. If the bees go extinct there will be no crops for humanity. The only thing left on land to eat will be our livestock. The livestock will die off though too because they don't have any crops to eat. Once all the animals die, humans will die leading to the extinction of humanity.
The water footprint of your per-day electricity use is based on state averages. If you use alternative energies such as wind and solar, your footprint could be less. (The use of biofuels, however, if they are heavily irrigated, could be another story.) You would also get points, or a footprint reduction, for using energy-star appliances and taking other energy-efficiency measures.

Growing pressure on water resources – from population and economic growth, climate change, pollution, and other challenges – has major impacts on our social, economic, and environmental well-being. Many of our most important aquifers are being over-pumped, causing widespread declines in groundwater levels.
Over recent decades the food system has changed from one that is predominantly supply-driven, to one that is more demand driven - our agro-economic model is generally focused now on providing food at the lowest possible prices. There has also been a shift in power in the supply chain, with bargaining power more concentrated in the retail sector than before, with primary producers taking on a subordinate economic role.
